February '21 Music

Foo Fighters - Midnight to Madness (2021): Solid record though I can't say that it really compares with their past albums and I'm not just talking about the untouchables like"Echo, Silence, Patience & Grace" and "In Your Honor". Has a bit of a more classic early 00' sound vibe to it. "Waiting on a War" their marquee song is the album's highlight, with lyrics that really cut into some deep nerves due to its relevance to the current sociopolitical environment. But some other songs like "Shame Shame" are strong and has a nice uptempo funkiness.

Mosaic MSC- Glory & Wonder (2016): Late comer to the scene with this Christian worship band but starting to dig deeper into their stuff. The main singer's voice resembles Lorde, which is probably why I instantly connected to their music. Notable songs like "Tremble" is a sweet sounding song that melodically repeats "Jesus" over and over. Opening song "Across the Universe" is a very solid opener that's filled with a uptempo hypnotic beat

Run it Back- Kendrick Lamar To Pimp a Butterfly: Timely especially given this current sociopolitical times. Sparked my interest in Time's most recent article on "The 25 Defining Works of the Black Renaissance" and this was on the list. The opening song - "Wesley's Theory" is an absolute banger and never fails to hook me into this album. Lamar is a lyrical prodigy who is socially conscious and speaks on the issue that are hugely important. It's hard to judge where this album ranks over his other amazing work like: "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City" and "DAMN".
